Twenty-four Army veterans of racial minorities, three of which are currently alive, recently received the prestigious Medal of Honor for their service nearly 40 years ago. Despite receiving this highly decorated award, all three veterans were recently rushed to the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The three veterans told sources, “It was great getting the Medal of Honor and being recognized for our efforts, but fuck, that was like 40 years ago. I mean shit, it took me 10 years of intensive therapy to get past all of the horrific shit I saw, but now I have to stand up there in front of the entire country and hear them recite every little detail of what happened all over again? It was like I was right back in the thick of it; the country screwed me by not recognizing what I did then and now tries to make up for it by giving me PTSD. Plus, I don’t even think they gave me the real medal, this thing is just chocolate wrapped in gold foil.”
THANK YOU to all those who have served our country in any capacity, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, sexual preference, and racial/ethnic background.
